In a factory using dozens of large circulation pumps for cooling water, frequent water leaks from the pumps were causing problems. These pumps used gland packing as the sealing material, but the seals were ineffective, leading to water leaks that soaked the surrounding area. The factory's production was busy, making it difficult to stop the pumps frequently, and the large number of pumps, along with the safety risks associated with tightening the packing and adjusting for leaks while the pumps were in operation, meant that these tasks were not being performed. 1. This mechanical seal can withstand 3.5 times the high pressure of conventional two-part seals and can also endure the vacuum state within the stuffing box. 1. It can be installed on all types of pumps. 2. No disassembly of the pump is required, making installation easy. 3. Unlike gland packing, once installed, regular maintenance such as retightening is unnecessary. 4. Although it is more than 50 times more expensive than gland packing, it offers advantages by eliminating maintenance costs (such as arranging tow trucks), water loss, and cleaning work.
