This is a media converter that supports data rates from 100Mbps to a maximum of 2500Mbps and features a protocol-independent SFP open slot. It is transparent to all protocols such as Ethernet, ATM, SONET, and SDH, allowing for conversion from single-mode to multi-mode as long as the MSA-compliant SFP operates within the data rate range of 100M to 2.5G. Additionally, it provides optical wavelength conversion for CWDM applications while offering reliable and cost-effective conversion between single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers. As an SFP-based device, it provides flexible support for conversion between various rates. The supported protocols, fiber connector types, and transmission distances are determined by the SFP module that is inserted and used.
