Transmission of NTSC baseband video from an analog video camera via fiber optic.
This is a fiber optic extender that transmits 1-channel analog video (NTSC) and 2-channel analog audio (L/R) in one direction. There are models that can transmit up to 300m with single-core multimode and standard 25km or a maximum of 60km with single-core single mode. The video can be transmitted at a level of 1.0Vp-p at 75Ω, with a bandwidth of up to 8MHz, allowing for transmission while maintaining high quality that is hard to believe for analog video. Additionally, the frequency range for audio is unusually wide for this type of equipment, supporting between 20Hz and 20kHz. Utilizing this wide bandwidth, there are customers who have successfully extended GPS time pulse signals (10kHz) over fiber optics instead of analog audio. Models are available that transmit only analog video, those that include audio signals, and the 240E series that supports bidirectional data transmission for serial RS-232/RS-422. Furthermore, for cases requiring multi-channel transmission, card-type variations that can be mounted on a chassis are also available.

This is a fiber optic transmitter and receiver capable of long-distance transmission of analog video signals, which are still in high demand, without worrying about electromagnetic noise. The U.S. company BCI possesses the technology to fully digitize analog video, where the video input via BNC connectors is converted into a digital signal without using any metal (copper wire) cables inside the device, and is output via fiber optic. Using transmission technology compliant with the U.S. broadcast quality standard EIA-250C, it can display noise-free video on monitors at the transmission destination (up to 60 km away) with quality surpassing NTSC. Additionally, the product configuration offers a variety of options, including built-in power supply types and 19-inch rack mount options. The standard model measures 11 cm in width, 22.5 cm in depth, and 4.3 cm in height, and is powered by an AC100-240V input compatible power adapter. The video input/output connector is a 75Ω impedance BNC connector, and the audio uses a 5-pin terminal block (supporting both balanced and unbalanced connections). The unidirectional model is the 230E series, while the bidirectional model is the 240E series, which is the size of two 230E units placed side by side.

Applications/Examples of results
