It is suitable for gas analysis, flame detection, human detection, as well as infrared camera lenses and radiation thermometers. By applying a highly durable DLC coating, it can also be used outdoors. With an oil-repellent coating, it can be used in environments where oil splatter is a concern, such as kitchens. It supports a wide wavelength range from 1.2μm to 14μm. The standard grade product has a slightly deep absorption at 9μm but is low in price. The high-resistance type has less absorption at 9μm and can also be used in the THz region.
