This is an introduction to "Sapphire," the main product of Shinyo Corporation. Single crystal sapphire is a crystal that is artificially grown (single crystallized) from high-purity alumina (Al2O3 wafers). It has a Mohs hardness of 9, a high melting point (2053°C) that exceeds that of quartz, and excellent plasma resistance, as well as outstanding optical, chemical, and electrical properties. In addition to various substrates, we have also achieved the mass production of large single crystal sapphire (Max. φ370mm) at a low cost, which is expected to have a wide range of applications for various mechanical components and is increasingly used in smartphone cover glass, among other things.
