While it is more affordable than mechanical seals, it features a seal lip that incorporates a garter spring at the contact point with the shaft, ensuring a tight fit between the shaft and the oil seal. Utilizing the tension of the spring, it prevents oil leakage. Due to the pure Teflon's effectiveness in preventing leaks from machining marks, the shaft and oil seal are securely held in a face contact state, enhancing sealing performance and reducing shaft wear.
