AC adapter "SMI5-USB series"

CUi Japan Co., Ltd. has announced a new family of wall-mounted AC-DC power adapters for the U.S., Japanese, and European markets: "SMI5-USB, SMI6, SMI18, SMI24, SMI36." These adapters include AC blade options for North America, Europe, the UK, Australia, and China, designed to meet the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) "Level VI" standards that will take effect on February 10, 2016. The Level VI standard aims to significantly reduce power consumption when the final product is not in use or when it is not connected to a system. Domestic or global manufacturers planning to launch final products equipped with external adapters in the U.S. market must comply with these new performance standards by the time the regulations are enforced. The 5 W, 6 W, 18 W, 24 W, and 36 W wall-mounted adapters operate with a wide input voltage range of 90-264 VAC, and depending on the model, can use output voltages of 5-48 VDC. All models meet the Level VI standard's no-load power consumption requirement (less than 0.1 W).
