With a single thought, create something that didn't exist in the world. This is a new material born and raised in Japan.
◆SPS Sintering Method The SPS (Spark Plasma Sintering) method, invented in Japan in the early 1960s, is a technique that fills powdered raw materials into a mold and applies current to sinter them. It can produce uniform dense bodies even from difficult-to-sinter materials, reducing the time to about one-tenth of conventional methods and power consumption to about one-third to one-fifth. Today, it is a highly valued technology in Europe, the United States, Asian countries, and BRICs nations. ◇Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) Metals and ceramics, easily machinable materials and superhard materials. FGMs are "materials whose composition, structure, and physical properties are integrated continuously or stepwise in the thickness direction or spreading direction" to achieve a balance of conflicting properties that are difficult to integrate. They were proposed in Japan in the mid-1980s, conceived within the context of space plane concepts. Starting with thermal stress-relief type FGMs, there are also porosity-graded FGMs that can impart strength and corrosion resistance to porous materials, and FGM superhard materials that can be machined, all of which are inventions that overturn previous concepts, stemming from the ideas of customers.

basic information
Thermal tiles made of ceramic composite materials used on the surface of the space shuttle. Due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficients with the metal of the airframe, large thermal stresses at the interface during atmospheric re-entry caused many issues with delamination and detachment. The gradient functional materials developed in the mid-1980s as part of the space plane concept successfully reduced the thermal stresses at the interface by over 30%. Today, applications have advanced not only in aerospace engineering but also in various fields such as biomaterials like artificial roots and bones, as well as semiconductor materials.

In September 1991, PMT Corporation was founded as a general trading company for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Since then, after processing parts and designing and manufacturing molds, we established ultra-precision axis control technology. We have leveraged this as our strength and applied it to various machines and devices, including the nano-stage system, NC fine processing machines, and maskless exposure devices. Currently, we are also engaged in automation systems specialized for the life sciences sector and robotics projects that solve challenges in manufacturing sites, continuing to create products that transcend industry boundaries. Our motto is, "What shall we create with PMT?" Please let us know your requests first.
