The Data Diode is fundamentally based on the principle of connecting a cable in only one direction (unidirectional) from a circuit that is inherently disconnected (with no physical cable). Using routes that are unnecessary for external intrusion or that cannot exit even if they are accidentally compromised offers a completely different level of safety and security. Gateways and firewalls need to be configured with settings that ensure complete blockage, and maintenance for updates must be carried out promptly as needed.
