The "BRI S/T-U Converter 16U" converts the reference point of the ISDN basic interface (BRI) from the S/T point (compliant with TTC standard JT-I430) to the U point (compliant with TTC standard JT-G961) at Layer 1 of the line. It can be used when developing or experimenting with BRI equipment to create Japan-specific ping-pong transmission from the S/T point, or when you want to convert a BRI that has been terminated by a DSU to the U point for extension.
