Mirror finish up to #14000 is possible! We will apply a mirror polish to the molds we have received.
At Hashimoto Industrial Co., Ltd., we perform mirror polishing on molds entrusted to us by our customers. The mirror finish can be accommodated up to #14000, and it is determined by considering the type of steel and customer requests. We believe that our polishing is fundamentally about preparing the base. By accurately increasing the grit in the grinding and paper processes, we can minimize issues such as "surface waviness," "orange peel," and "pinholes." 【Introduction to the Polishing Process】 ■ Grinding Process - Increase grit from #1000 to #1500 to #3000 - It is important to polish without causing shape deformation or leaving grit marks for base polishing. ■ Paper Process - Increase grit from #1500 to #2000 to #2500 to #3000 - This process has a very high occurrence rate of orange peel. ■ Diamond Process - Increase grit from #1800 to #3000 to #8000 to #14000 - This process has a very high occurrence rate of pinholes. basic information
【Introduction to Polishing Workroom】 ■ No shoes allowed in all rooms - To prevent dust and dirt, which are the enemies of mirror polishing, from entering the room. ■ For large molds and precision molds, polishing work is conducted in completely separate rooms - Because the polishing methods differ. ■ For small molds, a dedicated workbench for mold polishing is used to carry out the polishing process. [Small Mold Polishing Room] ■ Mainly targets relatively small molds that can be carried by hand. ■ Relatively small molds often have high mirror quality and high mirror grades. ■ Mirror grades: Mainly handles high mirror items ranging from #8000 to #14000. [Large Mold Polishing Room] ■ Targets relatively large molds that cannot be moved without a crane. ■ For large molds with high mirror quality: - Rough polishing is done here, and mirror work is carried out in the small mold polishing room. * Large molds tend to generate polishing debris, dust, and dirt during rough polishing. ■ Mainly handles relatively low mirror grades up to #3000. * For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.
