This is a unique standard set screw with a slotted design that adds smaller sizes to JIS standard products. It is used to secure by pressing the screw tip against the counterpart material. The pointed screw tip bites into the counterpart material for fixation. It is also referred to as a grub screw. It is compliant with EU-RoHS standards.

In recent years, there has been a growing global awareness of environmental issues, leading many industries, including automotive and semiconductors, to consider alternatives to hexavalent chromium. Among these, trivalent chromate is being used as a substitute for chromate plating. On the other hand, compared to chromate treatment, managing the process parameters such as the agitation state of the plating material, immersion time, temperature, and pH can be challenging, which may result in uneven appearance and color finish. Furthermore, in general chromate treatments, the color may change as corrosion begins.
