"Continuous vulcanization" refers to the process where traditional O-rings and similar items without molds were connected using adhesive materials like extruded rubber cords. This method had issues with the strength, heat resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, and sealing performance of the adhesive joints. Continuous vulcanization O-rings are molded through press vulcanization, eliminating the need for any adhesives. Therefore, they possess performance characteristics similar to those of standard molded products. Continuous vulcanization molding is a technology for producing special dimensions that are not covered by JIS or AS standards, and since it does not require molds for single items or small lots, it allows for the production of large-diameter O-rings at low cost and with short lead times. Because molding is performed using various dedicated facilities for continuous vulcanization, the finish, appearance, and dimensional accuracy are stable, and since the same materials as standard products are used, there are no occurrences of trouble.
