The "Keilax (R) Assay" is a simple and rapid measurement method for detecting dioxins (PCDDs, PCDFs, DL-PCBs). It achieves comparable high precision at about one-third the cost of conventional analytical methods. It can be used for various purposes, including as an official method, for self-testing, research and development, and screening surveys. Due to its high sensitivity, it is applicable not only to environmental media but also to low-concentration media such as food and biological samples. Since its introduction of biological testing nationwide in 1998, there have been approximately 60,000 samples tested in Japan.
