A major challenge in logistics costs is the reduction of packaging material expenses. Traditional containers made of iron, wood, steel, and cardboard are difficult to reuse, and the high transportation costs associated with metal containers per trip have also been a significant issue. Additionally, the characteristics of each material made it challenging to balance work efficiency and safety. Focusing on the drawbacks of each material, we developed a reusable large folding container (returnable box) called "Saibo" to address these issues. The sturdy container made of resin (polypropylene) achieves both high durability (capable of being reused an average of over 10 times) and lightweight design. As a result, the transportation cost per trip has been significantly reduced compared to traditional material containers. Moreover, a major feature of the returnable box "Saibo" is its workability and efficiency due to its special structure that allows for complete separation, reducing its volume to one-fifth when folded. This enables significant improvements in loading efficiency, leading to reduced transportation costs, as well as reductions in labor costs due to easier handling. The returnable box and folding container "Saibo" greatly contribute not only to the overall reduction of logistics costs but also to the reduction of environmental impact through resource reuse.
