The introduction of low-floor large trucks has increased the interior height of cargo spaces by 200 to 250 mm compared to traditional models, leading to a widespread adoption of pallet transportation. However, when considering modal shifts as a response to the logistics 2024 issue, some customers have faced the problem of reduced cargo loading in pallet transportation due to trailer chassis maintaining the traditional cargo space height. This is where sheet pallets come into play, but it is financially and operationally challenging to introduce push-pull forklifts solely for handling certain types of cargo. As a result, discussions have begun on using roller forks for sheet pallet transportation. In the case of bagged or bulk cargo, the rounded edges of the cargo make it easy to insert roller forks. However, for box-shaped cargo, it is necessary to create a space where the roller fork's tip can fit by lifting the cargo solely with the rigidity of the sheet pallet. If the back of the cargo is against a wall, it can be scooped with roller forks even if a space for the tip cannot be created, but this leads to significant constraints in the workspace, making it unwelcome on-site. In such cases, using a pass border allows for better accommodation of the tip, significantly improving work efficiency.

Applications/Examples of results
- Food ingredient exports: Alternative purpose for plastic pallets. In response to the movement to reduce plastic in Europe and the United States, a switch to paper products was considered, and their low cost was appreciated. - Automobile parts exports: New adoption in consideration of pallet shipping. Initially considered at the border, but the need for dedicated fork attachments at the delivery location became a bottleneck, leading to continued evaluation of the LeG type. The decisive factor was that it is cheaper than wooden pallets. The ability to dispose of used pallets at the delivery location through old paper collection routes also worked to our advantage. In the future, we will focus on product imports from Southeast Asia to China. We will introduce Indonesian products at a price that can compete with the locally produced cardboard pallets that are widely used.
