This document presents the features, examples, and technical information regarding the "Advanced Treatment Technology for Zinc-Containing Wastewater" conducted by Shin-Ei Chemical Industry. With the amendment of the law enacted in December 2016, the discharge standard for zinc was strengthened from 5 mg/L to 2 mg/L. Currently, the start date for implementation has been extended for another five years, but early action is required considering environmental impact. Our company has been engaged in the research and development of adsorbents with higher selectivity than conventional ones. We will introduce technologies that efficiently treat low-concentration zinc adsorption based on practical examples.
