The grain is straight, and the texture is somewhat fine. It is slightly lightweight and has good workability. It has extremely high decay resistance, especially strong against moisture. It excels in resistance to rot. Uses: Custom materials, building materials, furniture materials, water-related materials, shipbuilding materials, cabinets, wooden molds, musical instrument materials. It is used as a substitute for cypress in Japan. Caution: Although it is named American cypress due to its color and fragrance being similar to Aomori cypress, it is scientifically classified under the Chamaecyparis genus.
