There are three types of tenugui fabric available, categorized by the fineness of the weave: Bun (Prime), Oka, and Tokuoka. The thickness of the thread and the fineness of the weave vary according to the specifications. Please choose according to the intended use. □ Bun (Prime) Specification This fabric uses thicker thread (20 count) and has a relatively coarse weave, providing good breathability. It is suitable for tenugui and dishcloths. It is also referred to as Sōri. The size of one piece is approximately 33cm × 20m. □ Oka Specification This fabric uses finer thread (30 count) and has a smooth, fine weave. It is suitable for bath towels and prints. The size of one piece is approximately 35cm × 21.5m. □ Tokuoka L Specification This is a high-quality fabric with an even denser weave than the Oka specification. It is also used for yukata fabric. Finer patterns for printing are available here. The size of one piece is approximately 37cm × 24m. □ Non-Fluorescent Fabric Typical white fabrics use fluorescent dyes to achieve their white color. Non-fluorescent fabric is made without using fluorescent dyes in that process. It is recommended for facial towels and bath towels, and since it does not use dyes, it is also suitable for cooking purposes. The size of one piece is the same as the Oka specification, approximately 35cm × 21.5m.
