Flow of Odor Control Case Study ● Step 1: Understanding the Characteristics of the Rubber Processing Factory The rubber factory has various processes, and unique odors are emitted from all parts of the factory. These odors are often discharged from the rooftop, characterized by a large exhaust air volume. Additionally, deodorization devices that are effective against rubber odors, such as activated carbon and combustion methods, are currently difficult to install due to considerations of size, weight, exhaust air volume, and cost. ● Step 2: Odor Control Consultation There are countless exhaust points in the rubber factory, making it challenging to implement all possible measures. In this factory, we narrowed down to 64 odor sources and conducted an odor control consultation. This allowed us to understand the situation, identify the causes, and prioritize the measures. ● Step 3: Introduction of Deodorization Equipment Based on the results of the consultation, the highest priority was given to addressing airflow within the factory. We ensured ventilation to address heat and dust issues, improving the conditions to prevent odors from accumulating inside. Subsequently, we introduced a deodorant microgel spray system and sprayed deodorant microgel into the exhaust duct leading outdoors. We achieved a deodorization efficiency with a removal rate of 70-85%.
