At Otis, we press and punch functional materials such as functional films and double-sided tape, and we perform lamination and composite processing. For example, in smartphones, as the main body becomes more advanced and thinner, there has been an increase in the number of internal components and a trend towards miniaturization. Due to this background, the traditional inspection methods that rely on human visual checks have become increasingly difficult to detect defects in products that are produced in large quantities and are miniaturized. To address this challenge, Otis has developed a proprietary program and incorporated inspection position adjustment and control technology, resulting in the in-house development of an appearance inspection device equipped with line sensor cameras, achieving automation of the inspection process. This has enabled automatic image inspection, leading to: - Increased inspection speed - Improved inspection capabilities to handle a greater number of inspection items and difficult-to-judge defects - Cost reduction through a decrease in labor costs associated with inspection At Otis, we are solving various challenges related to product manufacturing not only through processing technology but also through our equipment development capabilities.
