◇ Simulation of the severe cutting behavior near the cutting edge of a tool moving at high speed, based on a fast explicit method using finite element analysis for the strong deformation of metals. ◇ Diverse machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, threading, broaching, and gear hobbing (definition) - Comes with a template, eliminating the need for a CAE operator. ◇ Has a dedicated material database for cutting processes (tool materials: 24 types, coating materials: 4 types, work materials: over 140 types). ◇ Main output results obtained from AdvantEdge FEM analysis: - Cutting resistance (main cutting force, feed force) - Chip shape - Temperature distribution of the tool cutting edge, chips, and work material - Stress distribution - Residual stress in the work material - Burr shape ◇ The above analysis results are displayed in various forms including skeleton display, contour display, graph output, and animations, visualizing cutting behavior that is difficult to observe in practice.

AdvantEdge FEM enables the prediction of multiple cutting condition models, including the selection of tools and work materials, based on the allowable design range and manufacturing conditions, thereby facilitating the discovery of better tools, work materials, and cutting conditions. ◇ Tool Design It predicts how the tool's rake angle, clearance angle, honing radius, land shape, breaker shape, tool material, and coating material affect cutting force, temperature distribution, and other factors. ◇ Examination and Improvement of Cutting Conditions By changing cutting conditions such as feed rate, cutting width, cutting speed, and edge shape, it predicts how these changes will impact cutting force, temperature distribution, and stress distribution. ◇ Improvement of Work Materials It predicts the chip removal behavior and burr generation during cutting, as well as temperature distribution and residual stress in the work material.
