This tape is also used in the grounds of Sapporo's important cultural property "Sapporo Clock Tower Crow Countermeasures" (video on YouTube) and around the Hakodate Ropeway. Effective period: 3 to 6 months. It is said that crows have eyes capable of distinguishing ultraviolet light and possess five times the visual acuity of humans. Because of this, they are sensitive to the "luminescence" emitted from ink and dislike the wavelengths of that light. The repellent effect (not approaching) has been recognized for crows, as well as birds of prey like hawks and kites, or other birds with good eyesight.
