This design maintains insulation while also sealing the wire to prevent corrosion and degradation of the thermocouple due to air or high-temperature gases. Since the space between the thermocouple wire and the metal sheath is filled with MgO, it has a unified structure, resulting in a faster response time compared to protective tube-type thermocouples.
