Generally, CO2 (carbon dioxide) lasers are widely used. It can be considered a type of thermal processing similar to gas cutting; however, the absorption rate of the laser light by the material is crucial. Therefore, cutting materials that easily reflect laser light, such as gold and silver, is particularly challenging.
