Additionally, to maintain a certain displacement state, it is sufficient to maintain a specified applied voltage, and the current when maintaining the voltage is effectively zero. 2. Capable of high-speed operation In general, it can operate at high speeds compared to actuators that utilize electromagnetic attraction. For the driving limit, which is the resonance frequency, please refer to the technical note "Operation under dynamic load." 3. Possible miniaturization and thinness Compared to actuators that utilize electromagnetic attraction to generate equivalent displacement and force, it is possible to achieve miniaturization, especially in terms of thickness. 4. Good controllability Since the relationship between voltage and displacement is almost proportional, it is possible to obtain a specified displacement through voltage control. However, due to the presence of hysteresis, the displacement generated at the same applied voltage will not be the same with changes in voltage (rise and fall), so a displacement sensor is necessary when precise displacement generation is required.

"Mechatrans" is a technology that I developed during my time at NEC in the 1980s, successfully realizing the world's first and fastest piezoelectric impact printer at that time. Subsequently, due to the evolution of printer technology, this technology disappeared from the public eye. However, Professor Toshio Higuchi from the University of Tokyo foresaw the potential of this technology, leading to the establishment of today's company. By leveraging the numerous advantages of the piezoelectric method, "Mechatrans" has achieved high-speed and large-displacement actuators, and I feel the potential for its use in a wide range of fields. We have now developed a series of actuators for everyone’s use.
