4-channel, 28-bit inductance/digital converter for inductive sensing "LDC1614"
With support for multiple channels and remote sensing, we achieve high performance and reliability in inductive sensing at minimal cost and power consumption. It is user-friendly, requiring only a sensor frequency in the range of 1kHz to 10MHz for sensing. This wide sensor frequency range allows for the use of ultra-compact PCB coils, further reducing the cost and size of sensing solutions. High-resolution channels enable a very wide sensing range while maintaining excellent performance beyond the diameter of two coils. By enabling differential and ratiometric measurements, a single channel can be used to compensate for environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, mechanical drift, and aging. With ease of use, low power consumption, and low system cost, it significantly enhances performance, reliability, and flexibility compared to existing sensing solutions, enabling new sensing capabilities in products across all markets, particularly in consumer and industrial applications. It can also be easily configured through an I2C interface. The package is WQFN-16, and evaluation modules and reference designs are also available.
