On the other hand, the painting method that directly sprays powdered pigments onto a substrate such as metal to form a coating is called "powder coating." Conceptually, it is more accurate to think of it as "powder coating," literally meaning "coating the surface with fine particles," rather than simply painting. When considering a request for powder coating, one of the factors to consider is the color matching of the paint.
