A buckling-restrained brace that sandwiches a core material transmitting axial force between a pair of steel mortar plates.
The "J-UP Brace" demonstrates excellent performance as a seismic damper installed between the upper and lower structures of a bridge (piers and abutments). It exhibits stable restoring force even in high strain areas (maximum shear strain amplitude of 4%) and has outstanding low-cycle fatigue performance, accommodating the large expansion and contraction required for bridge seismic dampers (80 to 120 mm). When installed on movable bearings, the damper does not act under normal conditions or during Level 1 earthquakes due to the equipped sliding mechanism, but it provides sufficient effectiveness as a seismic damper during Level 2 earthquakes. 【Features】 ■ Shows stable restoring force characteristics even in high strain areas ■ Excellent low-cycle fatigue performance ■ Accommodates large expansion and contraction required for bridge seismic dampers ■ Hysteretic damper utilizing the elastic-plastic deformation of steel ■ Exhibits stable energy absorption capability with minimal influence from temperature and speed *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
