A new surface hardening heat treatment method with an effective hardened layer depth equivalent to that of carburizing quenching!
"N-Quench" is a surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into steel, transforming it into an austenitic state, followed by quenching to obtain nitrogen martensite at the surface. An N-Quench treatment, developed in-house, is applicable to stainless steel and has an effective hardened layer depth comparable to that of carburizing quenching, with an increase in prototype production from research institutes and manufacturers. Since quantitative analysis of dissolved nitrogen concentration can also be performed in-house, it enables trouble resolution during mass production and ensures high-quality assurance. 【Features】 ■ Even inexpensive SPCC material can achieve a surface hardness of about 850 HV, with the ability to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused internally. ■ Treatment can be performed at a lower quenching temperature than carburizing quenching, resulting in significantly less distortion compared to carburizing quenching. ■ The treatment gas is nitrogen + ammonia, eliminating carbon emission sources from the atmosphere, making it an environmentally friendly process. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
