"N-Quench" is a surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into steel, transforming it into an austenitic state, followed by quenching to obtain nitrogen martensite at the surface. An N-Quench treatment, developed in-house, is applicable to stainless steel and has an effective hardened layer depth comparable to that of carburizing quenching, with an increase in prototype production from research institutes and manufacturers.
