Highly sensitive detection of glutathione! It is also possible to evaluate the oxidized (GSSH) / reduced (GSH) ratio!
The "Glutathione Measurement Kit" is a kit for measuring total glutathione (oxidized + reduced) in samples derived from animals and plants. Glutathione in the sample reacts with DTNB (5-5'-dithiobis[2-nitrobenzoic acid]) to form TNB (5-thiobenzoic acid) and GS-TNB, which have an absorption at 412 nm. GS-TNB is broken down into TNB and GSH through a cyclic reaction by glutathione reductase, and this GSH reacts again with DTNB to produce TNB. By measuring the change in absorbance at 412 nm (or 405 nm), glutathione can be detected with high sensitivity. Additionally, this kit not only measures total glutathione but also allows for the evaluation of the oxidized (GSSG) / reduced (GSH) ratio by pre-treating the sample with 4-vinylpyridine to detect only oxidized glutathione. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
