The "TPZ-D553" is a digital transceiver manufactured by Kenwood that achieves a thinness that does not interfere with daily wear and a size that is easy to carry. It meets 11 items of the U.S. Department of Defense military standard MIL-STD. Additionally, it has dust and immersion protection equivalent to IP67. It protects the radio from dust and submersion, and is also designed to withstand water pressure from sudden bad weather, complying with the IP55 standard for water jet protection. Its performance is maintained even when an optional speaker microphone is attached. Moreover, it features easy operation with four keys, allowing for various function settings. The LCD screen supports kanji and displays the channel number in a large font of four characters.
