We would like to introduce a development case of a soft-close mechanism component for sliding doors of a cupboard, handled by Kyoei Kanamono Seisakusho. We received a request from a client to "create a soft-close product that is highly functional and inexpensive." In response, we adopted a small and cost-effective disc damper. By converting the soft-close function from a linear direction to a rotational direction and utilizing the disc damper, we achieved the soft-close feature. By using a cost-effective disc damper and reducing the number of components, we successfully achieved significant cost and size reductions compared to conventional products. Our company, Kyoeisha Co., Ltd., is a manufacturing company without its own factory. In the past, we had a full set of equipment for producing press machines and molds, as well as employee dormitories and a baseball team.
