Melting flux for scrap melting
Kabaral 18S is a melting flux (Liquid Flux) used for melting fine scrap of aluminum and aluminum alloys (such as aluminum cans, foil, UBC, etc.) that provides covering, oxidation prevention, oxide removal (purification of molten metal), and improves melting yield and melting speed of the scrap. Kabaral 18S forms a stable molten layer that melts at low temperatures without generating heat during processing, creating a stable covering layer that shields the molten metal from the atmosphere, thereby preventing oxidation and hydrogen gas absorption. It simultaneously achieves purification effects, improvements in melting yield, and increases in melting speed. 1. Covering effect to prevent oxide generation and removal effect of decomposed oxides. When added to the surface of the molten metal, Kabaral 18S forms a stable covering layer that blocks the molten metal from the atmosphere, serving the role of oxidation prevention and hydrogen gas absorption prevention (covering). Additionally, it has a powerful cleansing effect that decomposes and adsorbs oxides generated from oils, moisture, and other contaminants on the surface of the fine scrap placed on top, transferring them to the flux layer.

basic information
The general melting method for Dalai powder and finely crushed UBC scrap involves generating a vortex in the aluminum melt, into which the materials are introduced for melting. However, in this case, the melted aluminum contains a significant amount of nitride-based oxides (amorphous Al-N-O series), which severely deteriorates the fluidity of the aluminum melt, resulting in the formation of what is known as "gel-like melt," leading to the worst quality of aluminum melt. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent the generation of oxides by simultaneously adding scrap of Kabalal 18S and to separate and remove the generated oxides as dross. The produced dross is removed and subjected to ash squeezing treatment. 2. Improvement of melting yield To prevent the generation of oxides due to the covering effect, it is natural that the melting yield improves. This advantage becomes a significant benefit in terms of cost reduction. 3. Improvement of melting speed The molten salt of Kabalal 18S covers the surface of the introduced scrap, purifying the scrap surface and alleviating the surface tension between the scrap and the aluminum melt, making it easier for the scrap to wet with molten aluminum, thus facilitating a smooth melting speed.
