Long-term power transmission tests conducted on the actual system! Successfully replaced with superconducting cables and connected to the actual system!
Approximately 3.2 km between two substations in Albany City, a superconducting cable line of about 350 m was constructed, and long-term power transmission tests were conducted in an actual system. On July 20, 2006, the long-length superconducting cable was connected to the actual system, and until the completion of the first phase in May 2007, it supplied power to about 70,000 households in Albany City for approximately 7,000 hours. Additionally, as part of the second phase, in January 2008, a 30 m section was replaced with a superconducting cable using YBCO wire, successfully connecting to the actual system. Then, a long-term transmission test on the actual line, lasting over a total of one year, was successfully completed in April 2008. 【Specifications of the Cable System (Partial)】 ■ Rated Voltage: 34.5 kVrms ■ Rated Current: 800 Arms ■ Superconducting Cable ・ Type: Three-core bundled superconducting cable ・ Length: 350 m (320 m + 30 m) ・ Insulation: PPLP (Poly-Propylene Laminated Paper), liquid nitrogen impregnated ・ Accessories: 2 gas-insulated terminal joints (underground) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
