**Principle of Eddy Current Testing** ■ By connecting an alternating current power supply to a coil (through-type coil) and flowing alternating current, a magnetic field is generated. When a conductive material (metal material) passes through this magnetic field, the magnetic lines of force generated inside the coil are penetrated by the material, resulting in the generation of induced current in the material due to electromagnetic induction. This generated current is called "eddy current." ■ The eddy current changes due to the shape, dimensions, electrical resistance, magnetic properties of the material, that is, due to defects, scratches, cracks, diameter changes, etc. Additionally, the changes in the eddy current cause the impedance of the coil to increase or decrease. ■ The changes in this increase or decrease are amplified and processed into defect signals, allowing for marking of defect locations or outputting defect signals to a recording device, which is known as an "eddy current tester." *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*
