Here is an example of applying the SDC-type solenoid to a channel switching device for multiple tracks and stereo systems. For multi-track tapes, such as car stereos, it is necessary to move the head up and down. The diagram shows a de-energized state stopped at a certain channel. By applying a pulse excitation to the solenoid, the movable iron core is attracted and returns to its original position due to the return spring. At this time, the feed gear rotates by a certain angle, which rotates the cam. As the cam rotates, the head is pushed down, but after the head is lowered to the lowest track, it returns to the highest track due to the shape of the cam.
