We manufacture cartridge heaters in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. If you are having issues with heater disconnection or heater lifespan, please contact us.
■What is a Cartridge Heater A cartridge heater is a pipe-type heater widely used in molds, packaging machines, molding machines, and more. It primarily consists of nichrome wire (the heating element) wound around a molded piece of magnesium oxide called a bobbin, which is then placed inside a metal pipe such as stainless steel. After filling with magnesium oxide powder, the heater undergoes a squeezing process to increase the filling density of the magnesium oxide, allowing it to release more heat to the outside of the heater pipe. This makes it an excellent heater. The principle of the cartridge heater is based on resistance heating, as it uses nichrome wire as the heating element. ■Types of Cartridge Heaters The types of cartridge heaters include flanged cartridge heaters, threaded cartridge heaters, small-diameter cartridge heaters, high-temperature cartridge heaters, L-shaped cartridge heaters, side lead type cartridge heaters, two-circuit cartridge heaters, cartridge heaters with built-in thermocouples, copper pipe cartridge heaters, coarse and fine winding (balanced winding) cartridge heaters, and various heaters for plastic molding machines and industrial machinery.

basic information
■Main Causes of Breakage in Cartridge Heaters The main causes of breakage in cartridge heaters are considered to be related to the usage conditions, including the operating environment. By taking the following examples into account during design, it is possible to extend the lifespan of the heater (e.g., when used in molds). 1: Reduce the number of ON/OFF cycles of the heater. 2: Minimize the clearance between the mold and the heater. If there is a gap between the mold and the cartridge heater, heat transfer will not be effective (air acts as an insulator). It is necessary to ensure proper heat transfer. 3: Lower the watt density. As Sanko Co., Ltd., we request that the watt density (capacity per heater area) be kept below 10. 4: Understand the operating temperature of the cartridge heater. If the distance between the cartridge heater and the actual measurement location is far, and the heater is being used at a temperature significantly higher than the measured temperature, the temperature sensor should be moved closer to the heater, or a heater that can withstand high temperatures is required. This is a product of our own manufacturing. Additionally, for mass-produced items, we offer low-cost products including overseas manufacturing.

Applications/Examples of results
[Usage Examples] Examples include heating molds, heater elements for hot plates, food dehydrators, hot melt applications, painting equipment, gas removal devices, semiconductor equipment, preheating parts for incinerators, machine tools, coating devices, adhesive insulation, heater rolls, and food manufacturing machines. By incorporating built-in sensors, it is also possible to prevent disconnection due to excessive temperature. Waterproof processing can be applied near the lead wires. If you have any questions regarding heater selection, design, etc., please feel free to contact us. We manufacture at our factory in Mihara Ward, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, but some mass-produced items, such as those exceeding 100 units, are also produced at our factory in Thailand. In addition to cartridge heaters, we also handle micro heaters, sheath heaters, aluminum cast heaters, quartz tube heaters, far infrared heaters, silicone rubber heaters, jacket heaters (mantle heaters), and ceramic board heaters. Furthermore, we can manufacture electric furnaces, hot plates, and dryers using these heaters.
Detailed information
-
It is a cartridge heater with a flange. A silicone varnish rubber tube is attached to the connection part.
-
A thick flange is welded all around to the heater. By filling it with silicone, it is designed to be waterproof.
