What is the water quality required for pure water? Free technical materials available!
Explaining the water quality required for pure water used in laboratories and the standards required for cleaning water for medical devices.
Ultra-pure water is generally defined as having a specific resistance of 18.2 MΩ·cm or higher and a TOC of less than 20 or 5 ppb. However, in the case of pure water, the quality is set according to its wide range of applications. For analytical research purposes, there is JIS K0557; for clinical testing purposes, there is CLRW; and for the cleaning of medical instruments (equipment), there are standards such as ISO 15883 and HTM 2030.
