We would like to introduce a recovery case involving water damage to an HDD. <Details of the recovery performed> The difficulty level of recovering the water-damaged item was extremely high, and it took three weeks to complete the recovery. In cases where water has splashed on or submerged the device, we advise not to dry the damaged media but to wrap it in a towel or similar material while still wet, place it in a plastic bag, and send it as soon as possible. In this case, the 3.5-inch HDD, which was the damaged media, was removed from the PC and arrived in a wet condition. Upon opening the HDD, we confirmed that water had entered the interior of the casing where the recording media is stored. We investigated the extent of corrosion, applied anti-corrosion treatment, and performed physical repairs, resulting in successful imaging of the recorded data. *Please feel free to contact us for more details.
