In the conventional method of securing bearings with retaining rings, reliability could not be guaranteed at 100%. Therefore, we applied our precision crimping machine "RN281." By crimping the shoulder of the shaft instead of using a retaining ring, we improved reliability and successfully eliminated complaints. Additionally, this contributes to cost reduction by eliminating the need for retaining rings and groove processing. 【Overview】 ■ Application: Automotive steering components ■ Challenge: Bearings were secured with conventional retaining rings, but reliability could not be claimed at 100%. ■ Solution: Secured by crimping the shoulder of the shaft instead of using a retaining ring.
