"Trivalent chromium plating" is a chromium plating that uses a trivalent chromium plating solution and is free of hexavalent chromium. The metallic chromium that precipitates as a plating film is safe; however, depending on the shape of the product, there is a risk that hexavalent chromium from the plating solution may remain in fine processing areas and gaps.
