Each tissue and organ in the human body cannot maintain normal physiological activities without the nourishment of qi and blood. The meridians facilitate the transportation of qi and blood throughout the body, the delivery of nutrients to the organs, tissues, and organs, and the resistance and defense against external pathogens (causes of disease from outside the body). Additionally, the meridian system has the phenomenon of "meridian sensation transfer," which means it can transmit stimuli, such as acupuncture, to other areas.
