Vermiculite is a flaky mineral primarily composed of SiO2, MgO, and Al2O3.
It is a very lightweight material that is expanded by crushing and classifying the raw stone to a certain grain size and then rapidly heating it in a furnace, resulting in an accordion-like silver or gold luster. This property is utilized in various industrial fields, including construction and horticulture. The product is packaged in paper bags for shipment.

Applications/Examples of results
1. Lightweight heat-resistant material It is used as aggregate for lightweight concrete, lightweight mortar, fireproof boards, and fireproof mortar, and is also used as a raw material for lightweight castable refractories by mixing alumina cement with porous materials and clay. 2. Insulation and soundproofing materials Due to its thermal insulation and sound absorption properties, it is formed into blocks for use as insulation and thermal materials, as well as interior materials for buildings, subways, and tunnels. 3. Building materials Because of its lightweight and fire resistance, it is used as a covering material for steel frames in high-rise buildings, applied through methods such as attaching molded panels or spraying. 4. Horticultural use With a high porosity and good moisture absorption and air permeability, it is effective for plant growth and is also used for laying grass on golf courses and for storing seeds and bulbs. 5. Steelmaking and casting It is sprinkled on the surface of molten metal in ladles for cast iron and cast steel to prevent oxidation and temperature drop of the molten metal, and to remove slag that has mixed into the molten metal. 6. Fertilizer additive Vermiculite is used in sludge treatment, dehydrated and dried for use as fertilizer. 7. Others It is used in deodorants, as insulation material for disposable heat packs, packaging materials, and as a filler for paints.
