"Vantablack S-VIS" is an ultra-low reflectance black coating that is compatible with ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared light. With a reflectance of 0.23% (@700nm), it is so low that it reflects almost no light, making objects coated with it appear two-dimensional to the human eye. Leveraging its unique physical and optical properties, it is expected to have a wide range of applications as a coating material, from satellite-mounted equipment to artworks. The low reflectance of Vantablack S-VIS far surpasses that of existing paints, making it the most effective coating currently available.
