A customer consulted us about wanting to automatically and regularly measure the bulk density of powder in the production line. Due to the natural origin of the raw materials and varying moisture levels, they wanted to measure the bulk density at each stage of the process to stabilize product quality and quickly change the conditions of the previous process in case of abnormalities. There were considerations for various sizes of powders, including fine powders and those the size of rice grains in pellet form. In particular, when pellets are forced to be leveled off, there was an occurrence where they got pinched between the edges of the container and could not be leveled properly. Therefore, we developed a semi-automatic testing machine that can confirm the leveling and reproducibility. The testing machine is located at our Goikaichi factory.
