We handle "optical" and "magnetic" DC motors. In the "optical encoder," a slit (a window opened in a disk) is fixed to the output shaft at the rear of the motor, and the motor's rotation speed is calculated by detecting the number of pulses with a photo sensor. In the "magnetic encoder," the properties of the Hall IC are utilized to output the number of poles of a ring magnet as a pulse signal, making detection and control easy.
