At Harada Iron Works Co., Ltd., we perform hard turning on high-hardness heat-treated steel. Compared to grinding processes, there are products that offer advantages in cost and machining accuracy. We use precision air chucks and diaphragm chucks that have low gripping stress and excellent repeatability. By simultaneously performing turning operations, we can achieve excellent taper shapes, R shapes, concentricity, and perpendicularity, while also eliminating the need for center holes, contributing to cost reduction. Depending on the workpiece size, we can achieve a surface roughness comparable to grinding, around Rz1.6. Additionally, if lathe tool marks are undesirable, we also offer machining to improve surface roughness using a burnishing tool.
