Nakamura Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Processing Case Collection - Volume 2 - Casting Sleeve Processing Examples
Casting sleeve processing examples
This time, I will introduce the machining of cast iron sleeves. Our company specializes in the machining of cast iron, which is often disliked by other companies. Among these, we frequently receive requests for the production of medium-sized sleeve-shaped products. This time, we are showcasing products up to the polishing stage, but we can also carry out polishing processes. Generally, lead machining on a lathe places a heavy load on the machine, so it cannot be done without a rigid machine. Additionally, since the product in this case is long, machining will be done using a steady rest. Our company excels in lathe-shaped machining such as cast iron, steady rests, and lead machining. In machining, we focus on process shortening through jigs and deep hole machining. We can accommodate depths of approximately 30 to 35 times the diameter for φ8.5 (depending on the shape size).

Company information
We have NC lathes, vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, internal grinders, vertical grinders, and three-dimensional measuring machines in-house, allowing for consistent production from medium-sized round workpieces to large-sized ones (Φ200 to Φ800) using our in-house equipment. We can also handle smaller workpieces ranging from Φ50 to Φ300. We are also considering machining from solid materials for prototype parts, as well as processing difficult materials such as titanium and Stellite. Common inquiries often involve flanges with precision requirements for coaxiality, concentricity, roundness, perpendicularity, and parallelism around 0.005 mm. Items such as stator sleeves used in motors, which require thin walls and lead groove machining, can be finished with high precision using our vertical grinding machines. We can propose ways to reduce the management workload for your ordering personnel, so please feel free to consult with us.
