Here is a case study on the manufacturing of filters for aquariums. "We are expanding aquarium filters in home centers and specialty stores, but we are being pressured to reduce costs. Can we make the raw materials cheaper than our current products?" was the request we received. When we inquired about the raw material prices from other companies, we found that they were comparable to ours. Upon asking about the assembly process for the final product, we learned that the customer was handling cutting and packaging on their side. We proposed to utilize our partner factories to take care of the raw material manufacturing, cutting, and packaging all in one go. This reduced the burden on the customer and led to overall cost savings.
